Remarkable Facts About Sleep

This thing called sleep.....

We all do it.  Most of us take it for granted until it becomes a problem.  It turns out that roughly two-thirds of adults throughout the worlds fail to obtain the recommended eight hours of sleep.  While this may not surprise most people, more recent science is actually starting to show the effects of this, and the results may surprise you....

*Routinely sleeping less than six or seven hours doubles your risk of cancer

This fact alone is staggering to really consider. Doubles?  This truly is an amazing and quite horrifying fact to consider.

*Even moderate reductions of sleep for just one week disrupt blood sugar so dramatically that you would be classified as pre-diabetic

Diet and exercise are huge, but a lack of sleep seemingly sets you back almost more than anything!

*Lack of sleep directly contributes to all major psychiatric conditions, including depressions, anxiety and suicide

It should be no secret that we live in a society overrun with diseases of the mind.  Could it be that a lack of sleep is the main contributor?

*Too little sleep increases a hormone that makes you feel hungry.  It's a proven recipe for weight gain.

Simply getting enough rest does more for your weight loss goals than almost anything else.

And so on, and so on.  Feeling a little bit depressed at this point? Don't be!  Turns out there is a LOT you can do to turn around your sleep problems.  There generally isn't a one size fits all approach, but there are time tested, simple things we ALL can do to get more sleep. In the meantime, here are three simple techniques that will help turn around your sleep problems.
